5 Elements Every Landing Page Needs to Convert
Your landing page isn't converting? You're probably missing one of these 5 essential elements. Practical guide with real examples.
Every week someone sends me a landing page asking for feedback. And almost always the problem is the same: lack of structure.
An LP isn’t a pretty website. It’s a conversion machine. And machines need specific parts to work.
Here are the 5 elements every landing page needs.
1. Clear and direct headline
The first thing visitors read. If they can’t understand in 3 seconds what you offer, they close the tab.
Bad: “Innovative solutions for your business” Good: “Professional landing pages from R$397 — ready in 7 days”
The headline must answer: what it is, who it’s for, and why I should keep reading.
2. Social proof
Nobody wants to be your first client. Testimonials, client logos, numbers — anything showing that other people have already trusted you.
No testimonials yet? Use data:
- “10+ delivered projects”
- “100% satisfied clients”
- Screenshots of real messages (with permission)
3. Benefits, not features
“Responsive site with SSL” doesn’t sell. “Your site works on mobile and is secure for your clients” — sells.
Translate each technical feature into a client benefit:
- ❌ “Clean and semantic code”
- ✅ “Ranks better on Google and loads in under 2 seconds”
4. Clear CTA (Call to Action)
One button. One action. No ambiguity.
Bad: “Learn more” (more of what?) Good: “I want my free quote in 24h”
The CTA should appear at least twice on the page: right after the headline and at the end.
5. Urgency or scarcity (without being fake)
People procrastinate. Your job is to give them a reason to act now:
- “Limited spots this month”
- “Promotional price until Friday”
- “Next availability: next week”
But never lie. Fake urgency destroys trust. If there’s no real urgency, use another trigger — like a guarantee (“7 days to test, satisfaction guaranteed”).
Bonus: what NOT to include
- ❌ Navigation menu (distracts from conversion)
- ❌ External links (takes visitors off the page)
- ❌ Too much text (LP is visual, not an article)
- ❌ Form with 10 fields (name + email/WhatsApp is enough)
Quick checklist
Before publishing your LP, check:
- Clear headline (3 seconds)
- At least 1 piece of social proof
- Benefits instead of features
- Visible and specific CTA
- Some action trigger
- Loads in under 3 seconds
- Works on mobile
